Origin: The sunflower originally comes from North America. People cultivate them for their edible fruits and oil.
Our Mr. Sunshine is a very special form of sunflower. It is a relatively low and compact sunflower with golden yellow flowers, with a diameter of approx. 20 cm.
With its growth height of approx. 60 cm, it is ideal for the GreenBox Plus, the balcony or the garden.
If the sunflower is planted out, it is ideal as an insect willow.
The sunflower is an annual plant.
Sowing: One to two seeds per PlantPlug.
Germination time: First seedlings after 7 - 14 days.
Germination temperature: Optimally 15 - 20°C, press deeper (dark germinator)
Ideal room temperature: 18 - 28°C.
Water requirement: Medium.

The plant flowers after approx. 2 - 3 months. Lightly shaking the plant or transferring pollen by hand with a finger/cotton bud/brush increases the fertilization rate.

If the sunflower is pollinated, it can produce seeds. These can be harvested after they have faded.
Plants are not suitable for consumption.
