This Italian classic is a popular base for pesto due to its pleasant aroma and soft texture. It is an indispensable addition to tomatoes and mozzarella, especially in Italian cuisine.
This variety of basil Genovese promises a long, rich and flavorful harvest thanks to its tall, relatively fast growth and late flowering time.
Basil is an annual plant, not hardy and should be replaced regularly depending on its condition and appearance.
Sowing: Several seeds can be placed in one PlantPlug.
Germination period: 8-15 days
Germination temperature: 16 to 25°C, press on the surface (light germinator)
Ideal room temperature: 18 - 30°C.

Placing the GreenBox in a well-ventilated place can prevent fungal diseases.
When the plant begins to flower, the leaves develop a bitter taste. Therefore, flowering and the associated fertilization is rather undesirable, except for seed production (reproduction).
Regular pruning of the shoot tips (always just above the branches) can delay flowering.
A special feature of this variety: flowering starts 10 - 12 weeks later than with standard basil!
First harvest after the plant has formed 6-8 leaves. Regular pruning promotes strong growth, but the plant should not be cut down completely.
It is best to always cut just above the axillary buds, i.e. above the branches.
From the start of flowering, it is advisable to harvest heavily to avoid the bitter taste.
Alternatively, the plant can also be used as an insect pasture.
