Small, bright red and almost deadly hot - the Carolina Reaper chili!
From November 2013 to October 2023, the Carolina Reaper held the world record for the hottest chili.
The term "Grim Reaper" means "grim reaper" in English, and the Carolina Reaper is also almost deadly hot. Even heat lovers should not eat a whole pod at once (and, according to the grower, only in company). Those unaccustomed to spiciness should not try them.
They are hardly suitable for eating on their own, but for making chili sauce, drying, pickling or freezing.

Origin: South Carolina (USA).
The plant grows bushy and grows up to 90 cm tall. The fruits ripen from green to orange to red, have a pronounced pointed spine and an uneven surface. The taste is aromatic, fruity-sweet with cherry-chocolate notes, a hint of citrus and, of course, extremely spicy.
The average values tested by the Chile Pepper Institute were 1,569,300 Scoville units, with individual specimens reaching an incredible 2.2 million SHU.
The plant is perennial. One of the vegetables richest in vitamins, especially vitamin C. High health value.
Sowing: One to two seeds per PlantPlug.
Germination period: first seedlings after 10 - 20 days
Germination temperature: optimum 24 - 30°C, press on the surface (light germinator)
Ideal room temperature: 22 - 30°C.

Placing the GreenBox in a well-ventilated place can prevent fungal diseases.
The plant flowers after about 2 - 3 months. Slight shaking of the plant or a manual transfer of pollen with a finger/cotton swab/brush increase the fertilization rate.
Usually 5 - 6 harvests are possible. The fruits ripen from green to orange to red, have a pronounced pointed spine and an uneven surface. Do not tear off the fruits, but cut them when they have reached the typical red color.

CAUTION! Extremely hot chili! Even spicy lovers should not eat a whole pod at once (and according to the grower, only in company). Those unaccustomed to spiciness should not try it.
Please wash your hands thoroughly after any contact with the chili plant! Chili can irritate the eyes and nose on contact due to its pungency.
Only ripe fruits are edible! Other parts of the plants are not suitable for consumption.
Hot chilies are not suitable for children, pregnant women, sick people and animals.
