Basil Genovese is the essential classic of the cucina italiana: popular as a base for pestos or as an aromatic topping for pizza, pasta and caprese. With its pronounced citrus note, fresh lemon basil enhances various drinks such as cocktails and lemonades - and is an excellent seasoning for fish and seafood.
The red romaine lettuce is rich in vitamin C and minerals. Its juicy, crunchy leaves are the perfect accompaniment to olives and goat's cheese. The red-brown edged picking lettuce tastes milder and slightly sweet. If only the large, outer leaves are harvested, the industrious plant will keep producing new ones for several weeks.
